Michael N. Rosner is Of Counsel at Sklar Kirsh LLP in the Entertainment & Media Practice Group and Corporate Department. Michael has been a corporate transactional and finance attorney for more than 20 years. His extensive in-house experience, as well as the time he has spent counseling a wide range of business and lending clients at national law firms, has given Michael an insider’s understanding of the needs of the business client. In 2018, Michael was recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as a nominee for its “Leader in Law” award in the entertainment category.
Most recently, Michael served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Relativity Media, LLC, where he was responsible for all legal matters studio-wide and helped the company close multiple financing rounds. While at Relativity, Michael was recognized as one of twenty leading general counsel in California by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal.
Michael began his career as a finance, bankruptcy and restructuring lawyer with the Financial Services Department of Blank Rome LLP in Philadelphia, where he practiced from 1993-1998. He then joined the in-house legal staff of Fremont Financial Corporation (which was succeeded by FINOVA Capital Corporation). Michael served as Vice President and Corporate Counsel of such companies from 1998-2004, structuring and negotiating asset-based and cash flow loans and working out multiple loan portfolios during FINOVA’ s bankruptcy liquidation process. In 2007, Michael joined Loeb & Loeb LLP’s Corporate Department where he represented a variety of regional and national banks, commercial finance companies, hedge funds and borrowers in a wide range of financing transactions, including syndicated loans, structured finance, healthcare finance, cash-flow and asset-based loans. Michael also worked on various film financing transactions including, slate financings, ultimates loans, prints and advertising facilities and co-financings; and general corporate matters both within and outside of the entertainment industry, including corporate organizational matters, mergers and acquisitions, licensing and employment agreements.
Michael is a member of the State Bars of California and Pennsylvania (currently on voluntary inactive status).
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan in 1990, with honors, and his Juris Doctor from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1993.
