Steve Halper is Of Counsel to Sklar Kirsh LLP in the Corporate Department. For 35 years, Steve has devoted his law practice to addressing the needs of entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies and investors in the organization of business entities and private investment funds, seed and venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, and a wide range of other corporate and business transactions in multiple industries.
A native of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Steve received a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1974, and a J.D., with honors, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1977.
Steve regularly lectures, writes and provides expert witness services on legal issues affecting limited liability companies as well as emerging growth companies. He is the co-editor of the Guide to Organizing and Operating a Limited Partnership in California and a contributor to the Report on Legal Opinions Concerning California Limited Liability Companies (both official publications of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California), and participated in the drafting of recently enacted California Revised Uniform Limited Liability Company Act as a member of the Partnerships and Limited Liability Company Committee of the State Bar of California.
